Life, the universe, everything…

Stumbled across this at lunchtime today…

The Fermi Paradox

Interesting read on life in the universe – or the lack thereof.

I think about things like this all the time.

Why haven’t we seen any sign of intelligent life out there? SETI is searching for it…

But then I just sit back and think that our definition of intelligent life is pretty much “ourselves“. In the overall scheme of things, we’re probably not all that intelligent, and those that are, are probably searching for intelligent life that far surpasses humanity. I mean the rate at which we’re destroying the planet when we’ve nowhere else to go? Not intelligent.

To genuine intelligent life, we’re probably like that primordial goop that we see in movies or tv shows trying to show the origins of life.

In other words – we’re stupid and deluding ourselves that we’re intelligent.

There. I said it.
